A lot of fun was had over one and a half days as Jaret and his father, Gary, joined us for a whisky tour around the Spirit of Speyside Festival. Not only did they contribute their taste and judgement to the Whisky Awards but they also took part in the Battle of the Villages competition where Elgin defeated 3 times champions Dufftown in a tense 3-2 victory! They drunk some fantastic whiskies along the way and had some fun in the process. All our Scotch whisky tours can be tailored to suit your tastes and interests. We also stopped off at the Highlander Inn at Craigellachie where Jaret and Gary had some amazing old drams from Pittyvaich, Tamnavulin and a special Islay Cask finished Balvenie. Our whisky tours can include fantastic whisky flights at the best whisky bars if you would rather not do full distillery tours all the time.

Distilling is said to have been practised at Balblair as long ago as 1749, but its formal history begins in 1790, when John Ross established a distillery at Balblair Farm, about half a mile from the current site.
